Year 6's blog

Welcome to Ms Lovell's blog at Reay Primary School!

Two children have been in the national news this week because of homework. One has been protesting in school because he was not being given enough; the other wrote to the Prime Minister because of too much being given. What are your thoughts?

We should start having science homework so then we will learn more science

    • Ishan says:

I don’t think so I think we have enough other homework. If you want to learn more about science you could go to the science museum, or a club.

I think homework is important because it helps you to improve in your academic skills although I do not agree with being given large amounts. A small writing task and a 1 sheet of maths is all that is needed every week because after school lots of children want to enjoy clubs and family time. If you are bombarded with homework you will constantly be working, feeling grumpy, worn out and stressed.

Think about the parents too! What happens if you have more than 2 children and everyone has lots of homework? How will parents cope if they are always needed to help and give advice especially when they have already done a hard days work and still have to cook dinner. So don’t make families miserable, only give children a small amount of useful homework !

i think that the person that thinks there is too much homework is being pressured and the one that wants more loves homework.
